Thank you for still reading this simple blog. Don't miss the first part of this story, just in case you can click here instead. So let's continue . . .
Big "YES!" Moment
And so we are now on the final assault towards the summit so Brian, - the Team Leader of the group, decided to re-group the team and he intentionally set us - Daniel and Johnna to be on tail portion. This is the only time that we will trek together since I don't usually tail her in hiking. As a matter of fact, she climb vigorously than me. She is a fast-paced hiker while I am just an average one. The purpose is for the rest of the team to prepare for some stuff and to set up the stage, get the photographers ready, and do you remember that we will be having some singers performing? Fast-forward to the main event, Johnna and me were on our final assault to reach the Mt. Batulao summit. Cameras and phones will be on us once we show up, who cares about sweats and frizzy hairs. Let's get it on.
Singers - Alex and Neil had a wonderful rendition of "A Thousand Years" during this moment. Kilig moment fills the air! This is a feeling of time stood still. The best moment ever on my entire mountaineering life. We actually talked about getting married all the time but she doesn't have any idea that it will be real soon. I practiced the words to say when I was on my knees, but it didn't come out just when I needed it. I've got blown away from the surrounding or maybe a lot of nervousness happening inside of me. When she saw the sign "Will You Marry Me?" she paused for several second before she said her "Yes!" Finally! Mission Accomplished.
Special Mention
To all may kasabwat, my heartfelt thanks to all of you. Because of your brilliant ideas and support this will not be possible.

The time when we reached the summit. It was intentional that I started at her back so when she turn to me, I am on one knee opening the ring. |

I am totally grateful that God allowed me to have friends that were supportive and you can always count on in times of everything. Kudos to all the members of Filipino Recreational Outdoor Group (FROG), friends, and workmates who joined us. God Bless!
